UK Inbound Travel Rules Notification

The Prime Minister has delivered a press conference on Saturday 27th November regarding new temporary and precautionary measures the UK Government will introduce following the emergence of the Omicron variant and the two cases that have been identified in the UK. https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-opening-statement-at-covid-19-press-conference-27-november-2021

Targeted measures will be introduced from 04.00am on Tuesday 30th November as a precaution to slow down the spread of the Omicron variant. These are:

  • All fully vaccinated arrivals to the UK are required to self-isolate when they arrive, take a PCR test on or before day 2, and continue to self-isolate until they receive a negative result. For those who test positive, they must isolate for 10 days. There will be no change for unvaccinated travellers.
  • All contacts of suspected Omicron cases must self-isolate, regardless of their vaccination status. They will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace.
  • Face coverings will be made compulsory in shops and on public transport from next week. All hospitality settings will be exempt.
