Sunways Celebrates 50 Years

We recently celebrated our 50th year in travel and we are delighted to share a few of the original moments between our founders, Mike Colley and Cheryl Essam, together with some the Sunways family over the years – many of whom are still working with us today. Mike and Cheryl’s desire for success, and passion for customer service, still runs deep within our organisation and is very much engrained in our DNA.
Our Managing Director, Mark Colley – youngest son of Mike – today reflects upon these photos in saying; “for me, the most poignant of these memories of yesteryear are of my wonderful brother, Nigel, who shepherded Sunways for many years and who will never be forgotten.
I was extremely fortunate growing up around such entrepreneurial pioneers as Mike and Cheryl – and they installed more passion and spirit in me than I can possibly describe. I hope today that I am in some way repaying this through the ongoing success of our brilliant company.
I am immensely proud and privileged to be part of such an amazing organisation and would like to thank all our staff, past and present, who made the last 50 years possible.
I would also like to thank our fantastic customers, many of whom we have had the pleasure of serving for 30-40+ years and we count as friends.
50 years in business is an incredible achievement. Today, I am standing on the shoulders of giants in our fantastic industry.
